I am a Colombian journalist with over 20 years of experience in print and digital media. I ed Univision in 2015 as a digital content coordinator at Noticias 45 Houston and later advanced to regional editor, overseeing digital teams in Chicago, New York, Washington, D.C., Phoenix, and multiple cities in Texas.
Since November 2022, I have been part of the video team, first as editorial coordinator and senior editor, and more recently as Digital Content Strategist & Senior Video Lead. In this role, I oversee digital content strategy for local stations, leading efforts to drive audience engagement through video content.
My career began in Colombia within a scientific research group, and after moving to the U.S., I spent several years writing and editing science and health stories focused on the Hispanic community. My reporting earned me fellowships for specialized training at the University of Southern California, the MIT Knight Science Journalism Fellowships program, and the National Institutes of Health. I was also recognized by NPR & New America Media for a feature on stem cell treatments for genetic diseases in children.
I hold a degree in Social Communication and Journalism from the Universidad de Antioquia in Medellín and a master’s in Digital Media Studies from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
I enjoy listening to TED Talks on science, technology, medicine, and politics. My hobbies include photography and hiking through forests, prairies, and mountains. I can't go a day without at least four cups of coffee, and on weekends, I try to visit nature parks with my three children and my husband.
